WOVEN is a sustainable social enterprise which aims to empower economically and socially disadvantaged women from rural villages in Nepal providing free vocational skills training and employment opportunities, as artisans, to help women become self-supportive and improve their well-being. It practices and promotes values of gender equality, sustainability and skills development while producing customer-focused products.
The cotton is sourced from the Women’s Skilled Development Organization (WSDO) which is a non-profit fair-trade organization, and the nettle fabric is sourced from a Women’s Cooperative in Salija Village. These organizations seek to ensure fair wages, decent working conditions and promote local sustainability.
